The National Index is committed to accuracy in all of its reporting. When we make mistakes — which, despite our best efforts, can happen — we correct them promptly, transparently, and without minimising the error.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
Accuracy is the foundation of credible journalism. We hold ourselves accountable to our readers, and a published correction is not a sign of weakness — it is a mark of integrity.
How We Handle Corrections
- Minor errors (spelling, grammar, or minor factual details) are corrected silently with an editor’s note at the bottom of the article stating what was changed and when.
- Significant factual errors are corrected with a prominent correction notice at the top of the article, clearly stating what was wrong and what the correct information is.
- Serious editorial errors that affect the substance of a story may result in an update, retraction, or a follow-up article as appropriate.
- We do not delete factually inaccurate articles without explanation. Where a story is retracted, a notice explaining the retraction is published in its place.
How to Report an Error
If you believe you have found an error in any of our articles, please contact us. To help us investigate quickly, please include:
- The URL of the article in question.
- A description of the error you believe exists.
- Any evidence or source that supports the correct information.
- Your name and contact email (optional, but helpful).
